Why do we need to use zsh? Here is a 4 minutes YouTube video which shows many reasons why we should switch from ...

  C++ for the Real-Time Web

C++? Why on Earth? C++ seems like one of the least likely languages to write a web application in. C++ is associated with complexity, both with language design and the need to manually manage memory. Programming in C++ unleashes a whole class of bugs associated with memory corruption and memory allocation. This is a trade off for giving more power to the developer along generally being much faster than equivalent programs in languages such as Python or Ruby. Real-time Web as a Use Case Making...

  The Reality

Everyone loves to talk about benchmarks. AMD’s Andy Parma recently wrote a blog that covers the top performance scores for the AMD Opteronâ„¢ 6200 Series processors.   Use DTrace to diagnose gdb issues

A few days ago, I installed the newest 64-bit gdb program (version 7.7.1) on Solaris 10 (X86_64 platform) to debug programs. After playing with the gdb a day, I found 2 issues about gdb:(1) The "set follow-fork-mode child" command doesn't take effect. By default, after the parent process forks the child process, the gdb will track the parent process, so this command can make gdb begin to follow the child process. But this command works OK on Linux.(2) The gdb can't parse the 32-bit application c...
