  2. Click the Page Saver icon in your browser toolbar

  6. Click "Save" and choose where to save the PDF file

The PDF will maintain the formatting, images, and links from the original web page.

What is the "Save Image as Type" feature?

The "Save Image as Type" feature (available in paid plans) allows you to right-click on any image on a web page and convert it to a different file format. For example, you can:

  • Convert PNG images to JPG
  • Convert JPG images to PNG
  • Convert GIF images to PNG or JPG
  • Convert WebP images to more compatible formats

This feature is particularly useful when you encounter images in formats not supported by some applications or when you want to optimize images for specific purposes.

What is OCR and how do I use it?

OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is a technology that converts images containing text into editable and searchable text. With Page Saver's OCR feature (available in paid plans), you can:

  1. Right-click on any image containing text on a web page
  2. Select "Extract Text from Image (OCR)" from the context menu
  3. The text will be extracted and displayed in a popup window
  4. You can then copy the text to your clipboard or save it as a text file

This feature is invaluable when you need to extract text from images, screenshots, PDFs, or web pages that don't allow text selection.

What is the difference between regular PDF and Reader Mode PDF?

Regular PDF: Captures the web page exactly as it appears in your browser, including all elements such as ads, navigation bars, and sidebars.

Reader Mode PDF: Extracts and formats only the main content of the page, removing advertisements, navigation elements, sidebars, and other distractions. This creates a clean, book-like reading experience focused solely on the content.

Reader Mode is particularly useful for saving articles, blog posts, and other text-heavy content for later reading without visual distractions. This feature is available in all plans, including the Free Plan.

Troubleshooting

Page Saver isn't working on certain websites. Why?

Some websites implement security measures that can restrict Page Saver's functionality. Common issues include:

  • Content Security Policy (CSP) restrictions
  • Cross-origin resource sharing (CORS) limitations
  • Protected or dynamically-loaded content
  • Sites requiring authentication

For most protected sites, you can still use the basic browser screenshot function by pressing Ctrl+Shift+P (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+P (Mac) to open the command palette, then typing "screenshot".

The OCR feature isn't accurately recognizing text. How can I improve results?

For better OCR results:

  • Ensure the image has good contrast between text and background
  • Use images with clear, readable text (avoid blurry or low-resolution images)
  • For images with complex backgrounds, try saving them first and applying contrast/brightness adjustments
  • If possible, crop the image to include only the text you want to extract
  • OCR works best with standard fonts; handwriting or decorative fonts may have lower accuracy

Our OCR technology is continuously improving, but may not be 100% accurate for all images or languages.

I purchased a subscription but don't see the premium features. What should I do?

If premium features aren't appearing after purchase:

  1. Refresh your browser and restart the extension
  2. Make sure you're logged in with the same account used for the purchase
  3. Check if your payment was successfully processed (check your email for a receipt)
  4. Clear your browser cache and cookies
  5. Disable and re-enable the extension

If you're still experiencing issues, please contact our support team with your order details for assistance.
